DIY: Beco Skin

I am a babywearer. It's true. I love the ability to carry my baby whilst having my arms free. Not only does it keep the little one close, but it's terribly convenient.

As some of you may know, I am a BIG fan of my Beco (thank you thank you thank you, Mom!!) and use it all the time. One of the things that I really liked about it right from the get-go is that were I to be savvy enough, I could sew my own covers for it to change the look whenever I wanted to.

Well, I attempted my first Beco cover this evening. Nothing much was happening this evening so I decided to get my sew on.

It is by no means perfect and it is not quite finished yet (I have to hem up the openings for the straps and the buckles yet), but overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! Once it is on, the flaws (or as I like to think of it . . . the homemade flair) will be a lot less noticeable I think.

Also, the colors in the picture are slightly off . . . the battery is dead in our brand new camera and needs to be charged so I busted out our old one.

Basically, it is a pillowcase for a Beco. But slightly more complicated because it has openings in several places. What do you think?
