Tools of the Trade: Gingher 4" Featherweight Thread Clips

Anyone remember that $50 Jo-Ann gift card Mr. Skooks' grandparents got me for Christmas?  And how I was savvy enough to snag a good deal on my new serger WITHOUT needing to spend it?  It still may sound confusing, but yes.  It was an awesome deal.  And with $50 left to spend on my sewing whims, I had to decide what direction to take it.

As you can probably guess from the title of this post, one of the things I decided to get was a pair of these dandy little thread clips from Gingher.  They were on sale for 40% off, which made it an even better time to pounce.

Let me tell you what's genius about these little guys.  You see that little hook area up there on the top of the lid?  That's where you can attach a string or chain (thread, a shoelace, whatever you've got around really) so that you can wear these little lovelies around your neck for easy access to a quick snip.

In short, I love them!  I always have so much stuff piled around whilst I create (pattern pieces, threads, fabric, rulers, iron, measuring tapes, pin cushions, etc, etc, etc) that it's nice to have something that is always "on my person".  No more searching.

Gotta love it.  :)
