Getting Creative with Kids: Cupcake Flowers
It's spring (finally!), so the other day when Little Miss said to me (as she does MOST days), "Mom, I want to MAKE something together with you!" I had just the thing.
Thank you, Busy Bee Bags.
Here's what we did. (Thanks to the BBB we had all the supplies, but I bet you could scrounge these up in your own house pretty easily.)
Gather your supplies:
- Piece of paper
- Green marker or crayon
- 3 or 4 cupcake liners
- Assorted other crayons/markers depending on how much you trust your child (Little Miss and I had an "incident" recently with a marker which has since made me default to crayons unless I'm hovering over her while she draws and colors)
- Glue
1) Draw (or have them draw) something similar to this:
Try not to laugh too hard at my ATROCIOUS drawing skills. BBB had done this part for me already, but since I didn't take a pic of it ahead of time I whipped up something similar for you (purely for illustrative purposes as I'm sure no one needs a template of this!)
2) Have them glue the cupcake liners to the top of the stems.
3) Toss some coloring implements at them and watch them go to town.
Hooray for Spring!

That's a really cute idea.Something to keep them occupied.
What a cute and fun project for little ones.
Cute! I may have to do this with Lilith sometime this week. It'd make a cute Mother's Day card for her Grams, too.
