Shoofly Block #5 - For Christina

Christina sent the green and the smaller floral print.  I wish there had been just a teense more green . . . I was going to keep this one to 2 sheets only and I thought that the floral would really POP with the solid green for the triangles and the center.  Nevertheless, I had a bit of sheeting left over from Mel's block and I felt that it coordinated nicely . . . especially the big green leaves that were drawing out a bit more of that solid green in the triangles.

In other news, the couch cushions left my house this evening . . . off to live with the in-laws.  The next time I see them (I hear they're coming home for real this time on Monday night), I'll try to remember to snap a picture for everyone.  One of Mr. Skooks' aunts came to babysit the kids the other night while we went to a wedding reception.  She mentioned that there may be interest from other family members on more couch cushion making endeavors.

Want to know what I told her?

SHOW ME THE MONEY.  ;)

I love the way it turned out. I would have loved to have a little more green also. I used some of my sheets.

B - thanks! Now that I've gotten 2 blocks back (the most recent one was from you!!) I'm trying to decide if I want to do some kind of sashing in between each block or just smash em all together. I'm leaning towards sashing of some kind . . .

HH - WOW. What is a swiss cross cushion?! Making pillows for the bed sounds much more manageable than tackling actual couch cushions again. In fact, I may have to make myself some simple throw pillows just to get the couch cushion feeling out of my system. Not the most fun project because there is so much work involved and it feels very constrained and not terribly creative. Pretty pillows however . . . that sounds lovely and fun!
